$195.00

The tropical prints channeling places like South Beach, Miami or Hawaii...came in all kinds of designs meant to ignite a explosion of tourist orgasmic feelings sure to want travelers staying at their resort hotels to go home and recreate the same style...it was in fact what the design exhibition of the 1939 Worlds Fair was partially all about...the idea of connecting tourism to interior design...inspired by tents filled with innovative fabrics of the time used on iconic hotel decors from Miami Beach to Hawaii. The idea was to use the age of mass production...home building...and inspiring decors that would make tourists go back to wherever they were from and embark on a mission to make their homes similar. And it worked. It was a interesting time the late 1930's and the ever changing world that created a wash and wear type idea that ushered in Barkcloth.
