Spectrum Fabrics were among the most noteworthy of fabric designs of the 30's 40's & 50's...their design brand was bolder...more obscure...with a level of flamboyance unparalelled by most other competitors...they produced the Egrets...Butterflies...so many of the bird designs that were rarely done by other textile makers of the time. Spectrum had a level of quality and uniqueness that took South Beach and Americans by storm.
This offering is for ONE YARD x 49 inches wide of unused old stock yardage...I have 6YDS being sold by the yard. A dove gray highly textured cotton barkcloth...with outrageously intoxicating tropical flowers with such fabulous ornate details...of course this spectaclar pattern would be nothing without the clever flamboyant use of color...a abundance of chatreuse yellows...paired beside crazy orchid purples...burgundy and flamingo pink tropical flora...foliage in shades of jadeite greens...but the most fabulous POP of all is the use of caribbean blue centers (stamen) of the flowers. It is these flamboyant factors of unusual that put Spectrum Fabrics at the top of it's game some 75+ years ago. Expect immaculate. Signed "A Spectrum Original Vat Print".
