It was the height of tourism in the Hawaiian islands...Waiki beaches were quickly becoming the playground for tourists from around the world...it was a time and period that exuded a power...the power of the flower...in a style now known as Hawaiiana by the collectors and enthusiasts who seekt to recreate the island flava through recreation in their own homes...using often all vintage styling or a mix of modern contemporary with a eclectic flair for fabulous. Today these Hawaiiana prints are hard to find the good ones...tucked away on the shelves of the collectors and those with sentimental attachment to the times...
This offering is for ONE ready to hang drapery panel in bold and bright and terrific condition...the colors have that same robust electricity about them as they did some 80- years ago...flagrant deep saturated reds and turquoise greens...some deep and dark and others with a creamy mix...but its is the electricity of the new bloom of bird of paradise that lights me on fire...oh boy...ORGASMIC is the only word to describe it...not that the explosive red and burgundy King Protea flowers aren't enough to send me into oblivion...with their perfect little flecks of chartreuse lime...accents of dark chocolate on this crisp clean white thick and nubby cotton barkcloth...OH MY I need to go freshen up! I have 5 of these brilliant babies up for grabs...of course more for someone special who recognizes something extraordinary when they see it...someone who follows the trends of barkcloth for the last couple decades to know treasures like these don't come around every day-cade....they have not been washed because they don't need to be...they are clean...smell neutral and present as about as brand new as any used barkcloth could. These came from an old hotel according to the collector I acquired them that her family had way back when. Buy pne...two or all...you decide! There is a rod pocket at the top for hanging...but I much prefer the sophistication of rings clips...with about 5 or 6 inches of bottom hem to extend if so desired. Flawless folks...have at em! Each panel measures 45 inches wide x 72 inches long with approx 6 inches in hems at the top and bottom.
