The time was the cross over from one decade to another...it was 1949 getting ready to transition to the 1950's...modernism had already begun to seap into the hearts and minds of many americans who were embracing the systemic changes that science and space were bringing to the forefront...and design was but one way to celebrate using textiles and a vibe of mid century that was both celebratory of modern technique...but also with a tad bit of classicism...it was the introduction of Atomic Plaids...a mid century take on the use of color...shape and metallic gold to make the statement that would attract the minds of unorthodox aesthetics of modernism.
This offering is for ONE YARD x 49 inches wide of a very spectacular textured cotton barkcloth...I have 3YDS available being sold by the yard...a bright and bold tangerine deep orange...dove gray...black and white with gold metallic. It is unused...unwashed...and signed fabulously " A CoFabco Vat Print Fully Guaranteed".
