Color's move me...patterns do of course too...but first and foremost color has always been my knight in shining armor...I craved it...my nick name for a good part of my life was FRUITY...because everything I loved was the color of a fruit...I was obsessed with tropical candies early on...a natural for Now & Laters and Jolly Ranchers...it is something driven still. today to who I am...one of the constants in my life...color. And without further adieu...let me introduce you to a bolt of fabric with yardage being sold by the yard...that if I were to do a drag stage intro would be "ladies and gentlemen please welcome to the stage Ms. Chartreuse Peary Kiwi Lime! I promise you in all of your years to come on this earth that you won't ever find anything like this...it is likely one of the best things I own. Worthy of designing a whole house around its inspiration. The days of finding nearly full bolts of vintage fabrics have all but come to an end...it is a rare occurrence to find something so fabulous...sparse and remarkable in the 21st century.
This offering is for ONE YARD x 48 inches wide of premier thick and nubby totally traditional textured barkcloth...the kind people search to the ends of the earth for...I have 35YDS available being SOLD BY THE YARD...a wild tropical design so unique and beautiful it will transport you to far away places...Miami Beach...Waikiki...Tahiti...San Tropez and the likes...a myriad of turquoise blues and greens...aqua...electric limes...creamy sage...a pop of caramel tangerine with crisp white accents that add depth and stunning movement to this historic yardage all on a pear/kiwi/chartreuse/lime/citron...its so many gorgeous colors that take my breath away...if you buy the whole bolt it comes with the original bolt tag identifying it as "Serenade Leaf Chartreuse" and the selvedge of the actual fabric is signed "Saison Happily Married Fabrics Vat Prints". As with most all vintage bolts there is a slight fold line down center where it was folded on the bolt. I am pretty certain it would wash out. The brand newness of a crisp new old stock fabric I think far outweights washing it! If prized is your fancy and fancy is your prize...then this is not one to be delayed...as once its gone it is gone forever. Expect a flawless specimen of 1930's/40's SWANK Barkcloth!
