The colors in this yardage are amazingly beautiful...sure to tweak the heart strings of many a shabby chic heart...those of us constantly seeking to recreate a warmness...a palette of cottage porch that transports is to another place and time...time traveling I like to call it...those nights when life just keeps you awake when you're trying to go to sleep...and are desperately in need of something uniquely special to ponder...to bring you zen...the love and nurturing that we humans crave...that we need...the memories of a nurturing old soul from our past...gliders and rockers on porches...sleeping porches bedecked with wonderful cottage cottons...these fabrics are surely no coincidence that they exist and coincide with our existence...it is because we as a species have made a bond with cotton...our psyche coming together with the creation of cottons...from the time we are born our bodies...our tactility...our sense of life...is cotton...the first blanket to hold our infant bodies...cotton...warm...snuggly...comforting cotton...the closest thing to the touch of human warmth and softness...I will go so far as to say we could not have evolved had it not been for that special bond between earthings and cotton...that unique coexistence that even today...even as we speak...all of us can look down at our clothing...or that seat from which we sit...or that perch of our desk or laptop and look in any direction and see...COTTON...that old familiar friend...
This auction is for ONE YARD x 49 inches wide (91.44cm x 124.46cm)...buy as many yards as your weary cottage heart desires...for it is NOT every day one comes across such wonders of cotton...a 20's 30's decorator bolt I am selling off by the yard...stored all this time unused and protected as if stored in a time capsule many moons ago...the colorway is something to write home about...a colorway hard to even describe...and one my camera had difficulty truly picking up...a very definitive cross between powder blue and robins egg blue...I mean if that even seems possible...maybe more powder blue... this great stuff is a very obvious blue...a soft palette yes...bestowing these glorious bouquets of roses...peonies...sweet pink and white candy striped roses...foxglove...morning glories and even dramatic iris...deep dark raspberry red...purple pink...shell pink...lavender...periwinkle...chartreuse...pale lemon...dark sage and TONS of creamy sage foliage...dusty cocoa...with white and raisin accents...there is a slight fold line down the center...this is unused medium weight cotton...smooth and non textured...certain upholstery weight...drapery weight...lovely for pillows...signed "A Colortested Fabric Best Obtainable Vat Dyes"...clean and beautiful...a sight to behold my sweet friends...for this doesn't come around every day!
