This is one of those greats that is deserving of being hung as art on walls...whether for a nursery or the adult child in all of us...this mid century design calls on all ages...it comes with all the bells and whistles of what the 1960's and POSH decorating was all about...exuding a mixture of elements from juvenile to Peter Max...to Danish Mod to Park Avenue Mod Chic apartment...this unused yardage has earned its keep on this earth...preserved...protected and ready for any design project.
This offering is for ONE YARD x 48 inches wide...I have 5 yards available sold by the yard. A medium to lighter upholstery weight...Waverly made the perfect weights when it came to their premier textiles...they were made to be versatile for use with draperies...upholstery...bedding and often times even garments...Waverly mostly deviated from the trend of barkcloth...only designing a limited assortment in its day...sticking more with a traditional smooth cotton made sturdy with excellent quality...this remarkable design comes as original unused yardage...still on the original bolt...it is signed on the selvedge "An Original Waverly Fabric SAFARI Vat Colors" it indicates it was also Scotchguarded which was a new innovative trend of the time in protecting textiles. A colorway of pure mod fantasy...a kelly lime ground...powder blue elephants...creamy tangerine alligators and cats...magenta and shell pink trees...and a vibrant citron chartreuse used in the design that really adds movement to the print. Expect flawless unused yardage.
