The 1920's was really the start of the style we have come to know as Shabby Chic...a melting of several varied deco styles that morphed into one beautiful style...the reflections of french 1800's...victorian...art deco...Hollywood Glam...all creating this wonderful design with neoclassical...baroque airs that bring a fluidity and falling...cascading floral effect to the textile...it is hard enough to find period fabrics from the 1930's...and the 20's even more rare and hard to find...so relish in this terrific find...perfect for a bunch of starlet like floral pillows or frame each bouquet behind glass...one of the best ways to create most iconic ART.
This offering is for ONE remnant...it looks like it was made into a simple drapery panel with a added on 4" piece at the top for hanging...leaving the sides unhemmed and original selvedge...it really looks to have not been used...colors are robustly fabulous...fabric is a heavy cotton canvas...a crisp clean unfaded GLORIOUS black ground with a creamy off white...not bright white...rather a very antique white...tons of citron greens and chartreuse yellows that scream for attention surrounded by orchid purples...pinks...foliage in a medley of old fashionedness...minty green...jadeite...creamy limes...with dove gray and creamy eggplant accents. Measures 46 inches wide x 66 inches long...washed to freshen...and designer ready...4 huge complete pillow repeats and a bunch of partial bouquets...expect 1920's perfection!
