The shabby chic movement was a modern take on all things sweet from the 1930's...it was about tactile touch simultaneously appealing to the eye...soft palettes of color...pinks and jadeite greens a major player...of course soft tones of grounds of the fabric...with a texture that transcends what we know of todays fabrics...a movement of soft in a contemporary world...the textiles used in the 1930's that are so desires and loved by so many...played the most landmark part of the shabby chic movement...barkcloth and era prints...with so many wonderful varied textures have become textbook models of exactly the beauty of a movement of soft hearts in a hard world...and so...shabby chic was born...more out of necessity and survival than anything else...when you look at the close up photos and really zoom into this texture...you will see the beauty and most mynute of details emerge in a texture that has almost a braille allure to it...it is simply divine...
This offering is for ONE YARD x 49 inches wide...I have 15 yards available sold by the yard...a crisp and clean ecru cream with provincial bouquets ensconced in romantic scrolls...a medley of lush pinks...berry red,,,dove gray...rustic peach...lime...the most scrumptious creamy robins egg blue...with raisin and white accents...this unused original 1930's old stock barkcloth has been stored brilliantly...has never been washed and even smells odor free and wonderfully neutral...we are a scent free...fabreeze free business...we hate fabreeze :) we instead would wash it over ever using that...but this beaut needed nothing...there is a fold line down center from being folded so long..but it is not soiled...so much yardage for so many projects...gorgeous pillows...draperies...upholstery...handbags...when you have this kind of amount of barkcloth...it is something really rare and a stroke of good fortune...
Note: This yardage is sold by the yard. I have this yardage in two larger continuous pieces of yardage I am cutting from. So if you need more than 8 yards it will come in more than one continuous piece. Message me if you have any questions.
