5YDS Hollywood Regency Vintage Fabric Yardage 1920's Tropical Home Style

The teens...1920's and early 30's ushered in a era of pure swank that was still around when I was crawling through the old abandoned hotels circa 1988 on Ocean Drive...when TRUST ME...nobody wanted to venture in those old hotels...they were derelict to say the least...boarded up...home to many vagrants and a sweet sex spot for those nude sunbathers across the street for some decrepit privacy...yes ladies and gentlemen...South Beach was seedy...the hotels turned half way houses many of them...the ones that didn't were boarded up with tiny holes in the boards for ventilation that would afford some small amount of light...and a birds eye view to the ocean across the street...quite literally :) old stucco art deco theaters turned burlesque or theaters of another sort...I feel honored to have been a part of that part of Miami Beach's transformation...it gave me perspective on exactly how they were decorated...as many of the hotels still had the original fabrics...furnishings and decor as was in place from the beginning...it was clear from what remained that satins and early rayon damasks were favored long before barkcloth...that regal true to form fancy Art Deco allure...it would be damasks more casual sister that would come along in the late 1930's and 40's and add a sense of tropical cozy to already existing damasks...so much so I created my first line of pillows in the early 2000's from the inspirations I was inspired by the many damasks and barkcloths that over time paired so beautifully together...so it was common for me to design my pillows with a stunning barkcloth front...a regal damask back side and maybe a completely different colored damask piping to compliment and create a piece of textile art...so when you think of South Beach...think of its entirety of style and decor...satins and barkcloth...perfect together!~

This very special offering is for 5YDS x 46/48 inches wide...it has a hidden seam down the very center where it was pieced together to make it wider...I've seen yardage like this used for in the mezzanine of theaters from tall dramatic ceilings as a fabric decoration...to instill extra drama in these wonderful old theaters...otherwise who can explain a 5 yard piece of luxurious damask seamed down center and hemmed at both ends...someone used this for a grand scale plan...a luxe shimmering chocolate...with creamy off white tropical palms...the selvedges are original and not hemmed...and the fabric looks to literally have never been used...a ton to work with...to cut down into dramatic draperies...pillows...but I could soooooo see someone splitting this yardage in half and making 2 huge drapery panels that will puddle romantically to the floor...I have 5 more yards of this if you need it...just message me :) Expect flawless...even the reverse side looks unused...heavy stuff here...shipping is estimated...any overage will be refunded.
