This offering is for ONE yard x 49 inches wide of a barkcloth era polished cotton or slight chintz...I have 20YDS x 49 inches wide of this stuff...sold by the yard. A post Art Deco pattern with a fantastic colorway! Surely these large and palpable patterns are Dorothy Draper esque fabrics that have that similar touch. Everyone always talked about the “Draper Touch” as there was no more iconic stamp to put on a design or a space decorated by the design phenom of Mrs. Dorothy Draper. A unglazed chintz...not heavy like a a traditional weave barkcloth...smooth and not nubby...but with a companion design seen also on heavier textiles of the period...Schumacher founded Waverly made some of the top shelf textiles of the time...a reputation that inspired Waverly as another high end designer of these fine fabrics. A white ground...pretty crisp white...with Art Deco trees in gorgeous shades of dark succulent pink fading to palest pink...charcoal and creamy grays...aqua minty greens that are so dang pretty I can’t hardly stand it...up against the pastel pinks...just takes this baby to a whole other level. Signed “ A Waverly Bonded Fabric Jewel Tree. The pattern isn’t the only thing jewel about this beauty...did you know that cotton was diamonds softer sister? Well its true...and you get a lot bigger remnants than diamonds. Priceless yes...but priced fairly and accordingly for such drama and perspective. Flawless.
