This offering is for ONE of the MOST rare ready to hang drapery panels...I have SIX available being sold individually...in 1989 as I was riding to the beach in Miami...I happened upon a spray painted board rested uo against a street post...it said “fabric liquidation”...I made the turn and happened a few blocks to a boarded up brick 2 story old building...the door was ajar and it was dark inside...no light...what I saw blew me away...it was a whole fabric shop of bolts...never picked up custom orders...and a perfectly preserved hoard of barkcloth...protected by layers of fabrics on top that had damage...but underneath was a brand new immaculate bolts...brand new draperies and a whole caboodle of heirloom textiles. I bought it all...I was only 23 years old...but I managed to clear most of it and ship it to my parents house in New Jersey. And I packed my jeep to the gills with it. The story was the owner died in the 50’s and his wife closed the store due to the neighborhood turning into bedlam...crime infested...it would be the home decades later to the Miami Design District and one of the most chic areas today. I have preserved this hoard...designed with it and have so much left. These draperies were part of that hoard...they were in the custom drapery department packed in plastic and hung...never picked up and brand new. A rare opportunity to own one of the most iconic of the barkcloth family patterns and colorway...worthy of building a home around...or designing a home around...for the right soul these are worth millions. Measures 19 wide at pleats...44 wide at bottom width and a whopping 86 inches long with a 4.5 inch hem. .lined with a nice heavy original lining that like the draperies is in brand new shape.. Flawless as if you time transported you back to the post Art Deco era of Miami Beach 1937 to make this purchase. And they say you can’t time travel. :)
