If I close my eyes...my biggest fantasy is being able to time travel back to 1937 to Main Street...in any part of the USA...but most essentially Miami...New York...Chicago...and Los Angeles were a bedrock for some of the most fantastic patterns of barkcloth...some patterns not sold by catalog as that was just too ordinary...rather for the aristocrats with loaded wallets who would appreciate the beauty and pomp and circumstance of artistry gaining attention at the time by the fame of huge floral ambitions made popular by the likes of mrs. Dorothy Draper and the likes...inspiring a world where the home boasts larger than life botanical florals as if picked from a Hollywood garden and placed atop a textured barkcloth. if I could only take a gummy and go back to some swank fabric shop with ladies in pull box hats and satin dresses and patten leather pocket books to touch the bolts of this precious stuff that would become my world...my vision...my home...and my life. It is after all a lifetime me of rumination and obsession...I must be the most deserving to time travel to the land of stargazer lilies cascading in flight.
This offering is for ONE very fabulous pattern and coloration that has always been top shelf for me...a pattern I have been smitten for 40 years...its called “Design Adalia” and its trio of huge stargazers warm my heart in the most old fashioned nostalgic of ways. A clean crisp creamy off white ground with magenta merlot...lavender bubble gum...vibrant chartreuse lime...smokey grays...deep dark teal...aqua mist..lime...with white accents...I have TWO available being sold individually.
