STUFFIES as they are referred to today...the timeless beauty of the art of stuffing...the cozy...the sweetness of mock security...the ides of stuffing things we love...animals...and giving them to babies...which I think helps foster a love for animals. Designers of the mid century were clamoring for new ways to create barkcloth...and tapping into the baby world was quite a success...new moms had personal relationships with the fabric cutters at Woolworths...and quite possibly that cutter would give Myrtle the 411 that a great new pattern arrived...of course it would have involved calling a operator in Murray Hill!! ;) I’m old.
This offering is for ONE YARD x 36 inches wide of unused unwashed premier textured thick and nubby barkcloth...the kind that softens so wonderfully after many washings...I have THREE YARDS available sold by the yard and will come in continuous yardage. So its perfect for stuffed animals...pillows...a quilt...but honestly if it were me I’d take a yard of this and have it framed as nostalgic popping art for any young earthling making their way into the world. A pretty zingy vibrant lemon yellow ground...with colors that just looks like were meant to be...candy apple red...a fabulous unexpected contrasting aqua teal...with creamy gray...with black accents.
