Imagine waking up in 1939...you go to sleep and wake to being time traveled...you walk from your deluxe Miami Beach apartment to Mays Department Store and buy some very fabulous barkcloth yardage...because you know it is all the trends and every magazine and catalog is showcasing it...you stop at your favorite bakery on Lincoln Road and grab some notions at Fabco Fabric Shop on Washington Street before heading back to your tropical hideaway to sew the day away...glancing continually at the view outside your window to a plethora of breeze block and the turquoise green blue ocean just feet away...we can all escape...we just need to dream more while awake :)
This offering is for ONE YARD x 49 wide (91.44cm x 124.46cm) of a never used primo never before used stellar thick and nubby classic Woodslands style tropicanna yardage...I have 9 yards available...a dove gray ground...beautifully light and airy in color...the grays a very popular sophisticated neutral ground color of the day...trumping he beiges and more cool off white tones...the gray came along with a clean warmth...and played well with the Art Deco allure that became synonymous with Ocean Drive...South Beach...as well as many a boutique hotel from here to Santa Monica...California...it is highly unusual an affair to find pinecones on a true genuine thick and nubby barkcloth...a color combo unparalleled by most anything else...classic...color pops that are heart warming and sure to strum some of those old soul heart strings...this is never used...it was stored for all these years folded on the original bolt...it does have a fold line down the middle...the rest of immaculately clean and spotless...heavy...textured...traditional weave barkcloth giving you the ability to time travel essentially back to circa 1940 where you can again SHOP for this grand stuff...as if you grabbed your head scarf and pearls...cozied into your midde class Ford Fairlane and dashed down to Mays Department Store for some home decorating yardage for tropical pillows...radiant pomegranate red...deepest darkest blood burgundy...milky chocolate...cocoa...beige and egg cream...jadite green and deepest darkest turquoise green foliage...with cool electric creamy lime pine cones...with black and white accents...for the right old soul...this batch promises amazing nostalgic memories...
The condition is unused. It does however have a fold line down the very center from where it was folded in half for ages...it doens't impede the usefulness of this fabric or repeats and is great for a creative upholsterer to still work with for furniture...otherwise this is in brand new condition.
