RAREST! 30’s Panthers & Palms Salesman Sample Chartreuse LIME Barkcloth Vintage Fabric

The most prized and rarest of all the Barkcloth patterns is the Panthers & Palms Fabric. A original salesman sample showing all the colors this pattern was made in. I did Art Deco Week in Miami Beach and this pattern sold in huge market totes and pillows for $2400 each. They fetch a pretty penny as the collectors...designers and art enthusiasts couldn't get enough. This pattern hails from the Art Deco Period in Miami Beach where it was first introduced in the hotel district of South Beach. A culmination of good ole American spirit of innovation...commerce and drive from the 1939 Worlds Fair in NYC where many of the jungle prints first premiered in designer tents fashioned as lobby's of Miami Beach hotels. A way to showcase what was happening in Miami Beach and influence designers throughout the world. Before long designers were clamoring for orders as far away as Shanghai China and of course Los Angeles and modern cities in the USA. Today these treasured patterns have mostly disappeared...been designed with or vanished into the salt air of South Beach in the decline of the 60's, 70's and 80's. This offering is for ONE unused unwashed original old stock RARE panther & palm salesman sample...a huge chartreuse lime remnant that could make a couple pillows and along the very top small samplings of all the colors this print was ever made. A textured nubby traditional barkcloth fabric that was made in the following colorways: red...white...gray...dark teal and chartreuse lime which is the rarest of them all. No one else in the world has such rare grandeur...it is only here stored away in my prestigious barkcloth vault! Measures 23 inches wide x 32 inches long. The smaller samples sewn along the top measures 11 inches wide x 5 inches long. Flawless old stock.
