I am known for the antique shows and textile shows throughout the country and especially Miami Beach. I have a unusual creative eye that conjures up unique and precious pieces of vintage art by todays standards. This offering is for ONE barkcloth pillow WITH an INSERT and free shipping! The postal system struggled during WWII and created a appreciation and obsession on mail...especially during war time. I see this design and think of the many beloveds at war...lovers at home waiting anxiously and fretting at the mailbox waiting for letters. A historical perspective on mail...fabric...and love! A textured unused original 40’s barkcloth...a creamy gray ground with palpable pinks...teal...lemony yellows...chocolates and cocoas...asparagus lime...candied red...merlot...eggplant...with white accents. Paired with a double piping in chocolate and lemon and a rose textured barkcloth backside. It measures 22 " x 20" in size and has a hidden zipper for easy insert of a pillow form! A commemorative ideology of the postal system and how it conveyed love and joy...heartache and sorrow...delivered by spirited workers in a time of war and lost loves.
