Florida Bungalow was one of the first innovators to create huge quality dramatic and flamboyant pillows for 30 something years. I am known for the antique shows and textile shows throughout the country and especially Miami Beach. I have a unusual creative eye that conjures up unique and precious pieces of vintage art by todays standards. So let us transport you back to a time and place far from today in a world of everlasting nostalgia and whimsy.
This offering is for ONE barkcloth pillow cover. Soooo...yeah...there is THIS...some of my most treasured designs up for grabs...surely you won't find these anywhere else. A rarest and most collectible of the barkcloth patterns. I'm calling it "Cockatoos Hanging Round"...a Miami Beach spirited fabric...I have seen draperies barely with a thread in them still hanging in Miami hotels in the 80's. This is part of a bolt I have that I salvaged from a abandoned fabric shop in 1989 and I have coveted it since. Rarely do the girls come out of hiding! A black textured...nubby...unused off the bolt barkcloth with flagrant orange and coral...deep dark teal...asparagus lime...chartreuse...jadeite...creamy charcoal...blush pink...with white accents. Paired deliciously with a rare expensive asparagus lime brush fringe and unexpected pool blue backside that literally transports you back to 1937 Art Deco Miami Beach. It measures 23 " x 23" in size and has a hidden zipper for easy insert of a pillow form, which is not included. if you would like one, please contact me. These babies don't belong in zoos...they belong on your sofa or chair...nestled in your care.
