I am known for the antique shows and textile shows throughout the country and especially Miami Beach. I have a unusual creative eye that conjures up unique and precious pieces of vintage art by todays standards. So let us transport you back to a time and place far from today in a world of everlasting nostalgia and whimsy.
This offering is for ONE barkcloth pillow cover with INSERT...a sensational example of mid century modernism with a bit of a crazy twist...I've always known this fabric to be inspired by Matisse as he was involved in textiles in the mid century. Boasting a detailed ornate scenic display of a cityscape...to make it harkens New Orleans, but Key West and some other hamlets come to mind. A rare unused creamy gray barkcloth ground...pops of dark orange bordering brick red...periwinkle...dark teal...dove and charcoal gray...aqua...powder sky blue...chartreuse...with black and white accents. Paired with a double piping in aqua and powder blue and a aqua backside picks up some of the the aqua on the pattern pretty perfectly. It measures 22 " x 23" in size and has a hidden zipper for easy insert of a pillow form. Whether you dwell in New Orleans or just have a funky odd and crazy wonderful spirit...this pillow can serve your design and nostalgic needs all in one!
