Florida Bungalow was one of the first innovators to create huge quality drama and flamboyant pillows for 30 something years. I am known for the antique shows and textile shows throughout the country and especially Miami Beach. I have a unusual creative eye that conjures up unique and precious pieces of vintage art by todays standards. So let us transport you back to a time and place far from today in a world of everlasting nostalgia and whimsy.
This offering is for ONE barkcloth pillow cover with INSERT. This quintessential Art Deco Miami Beach art pillow is exactly the embodiment of what I saw crawling through Miami Beach hotels in the 1980's...believe or not many rooms still had original barkcloth draperies and furniture still in the rooms! This pattern is called "Tropical Rings" which was what the tag read on the original bolt this fabric was cut from. A colorful fun twist of tropical and Art Deco flora...the genetic South Beach flamboyance signature to the jewels along Ocean Drive. A flora stripe of utter drama and beauty...a chartreuse yellow and black thick stripe with rings in candied red...bubble gum pink...shell pink...dark teal...lime...dove gray...hints of dark chocolate...with white accents. Paired with a double piping of dark teal and pink with a dramatic crisp black luxe velvet backside. It measures 22 " x 19" in size and has a hidden zipper for easy insert of a pillow form. While I've gone ahead and stepped over hypodermic needles in these old hotels in Miami...so I have already done the hard work...for you...to reap the rewards of these timeless jewels of South Beach!
