Florida Bungalow was one of the first innovators to create huge quality dramatic and flamboyant pillows for 30 something years. I am known for the antique shows and textile shows throughout the country and especially Miami Beach. I have a unusual creative eye that conjures up unique and precious pieces of vintage art by todays standards. This offering is for ONE barkcloth pillow cover with INSERT! One that certainly brings you straight back to 1954 and the atomic...kinetic movement of the design greats like Joan Miro and Lucienne Day...the 1950's witnessing a apogee of artist designed textiles in America with manufacturers persuading some of the most eminent artists to take part in projects that elevated textile design to the status of high art. This pillow cover is made from a nubby barkcloth that was cut from a bolt retrieved in Miami Beach in the 80's and is in swank brand new condition. A kinetic circus of free floating objects...a chandelier of beauty...in colors that are straight up Miami Beach 1954 with its colorway especially the aqua and flamingo pink really catapult this to a whole other level. I used a aqua piping and a coordinating aqua backside to tie it altogether magically. Lots of charcoal...clean cut dove grays...aquamarine turquoise...with black and white accents. It measures 21 " x 21" in size and has a hidden zipper for easy insert of a pillow form. I also have another one of these in a separate listing with a contrasting piping color of pink. Together what a wonderful pair to own if you choose to buy both.
