Florida Bungalow was one of the first innovators to create huge quality drama and flamboyant pillows for 30 something years. I am known for the antique shows and textile shows throughout the country and especially Miami Beach. I have a unusual creative eye that conjures up unique and precious pieces of vintage art by todays standards. So let us transport you back to a time and place far from today in a world of everlasting nostalgia and whimsy.
This offering is for ONE barkcloth pillow cover with INSERT. This rare beauty is cut from an original bolt of prized textured nubby barkcloth...surely one of the most exotic of the floral motifs...channeling old Miami Beach...Hawaii...Los Angeles and anywhere in between where tropical hearts dwell. A unused old stock in brand new condition with a deep dark black ground...varied pinks from red pink to softer bubble gum and shell pinks...varied teal greens with aqua and Tiffany blues...varied hues of coffee browns...varied degrees of fantasticalness in the chartreuse limes and yellows...asparagus limes....with deepest darkest chocolate accents. This pattern is called "Design Kenya" and was signed on the bolt and selvedge. Paired luxury with a aqua and chartreuse lime double piping with a sweet pale shell pink velvet backside. It measures 22 " x 20" in size and has a hidden zipper for easy insert of a pillow form. If time traveling back in time by loving artifacts from back in the day...well this may be as close as you can get to sitting in a Miami Beach cabaret bar circa 1940!
