Florida Bungalow was one of the first innovators to create huge quality dramatic and flamboyant pillows for 30 something years. I am known for the antique shows and textile shows throughout the country and especially Miami Beach. I have a unusual creative eye that conjures up unique and precious pieces of vintage art by todays standards. So let us transport you back to a time and place far from today in a world of everlasting nostalgia and whimsy.
This offering is for ONE barkcloth pillow cover WITH INSERT. This leafy floral beauty has all the genetics of Polynesia...reminds me of a pattern that used to be in the original Mai Kai Restaurant in Fort Lauderdale...which is was closed for a long time and just reopened on A1A...adjacent to the Yankee Clipper across the street that had mermaid shows in the Wreck Bar with port hole windows to the bathing beauties. This textured nubby fabric is more commercial strength...with hibiscus and banana leaf...made from unused off my bolt fabric from the 1940's. A cocoa ground with a ton of chocolates from dark to creamy...lemon yellow hibiscus with coral pink stamen...asparagus lime and dark lime...with white accents. I paired it with a beautiful unexpected aqua pool blue and simple white piping. It measures 22 " x 23" in size and has a hidden zipper for easy insert of a pillow form. Plop this beauty anywhere you hang your hat...if you dig Polynesia and the ambiance of tropical exuberance in a chocolate-y way...packed with lots of ALOHA!
