1939 Worlds Fair South Beach on FIRE Art Deco Mid Century Barkcloth Fabric PILLOW

Florida Bungalow was one of the first innovators to create huge quality dramatic and flamboyant pillows for 30 something years. I am known for the antique shows and textile shows throughout the country and especially Miami Beach. I have a unusual creative eye that conjures up unique and precious pieces of vintage art by todays standards. So let us transport you back to a time and place far from today in a world of everlasting nostalgia and whimsy.

This offering is for ONE barkcloth pillow cover...definitely for the one looking for something historic...rare...iconic and part of the 1939 Worlds Fair in New York where barkcloth manufacturers...notably Spectrum Fabrics was part of a exhibition showcasing the trends of the time and this pattern was one of them. A deluxe rendering of the tropical leafiness of South Beach and the notable curls of scrolls that were architectural plaster reliefs on the old hotels and buildings of the time. A unused textured nubby barkcloth with candied red...chartreuse...asparagus lime...dark chocolate...jadeite...teal...aqua...minty aqua...with white accents. I used a luxe aqua jadeite green velvet for the piping and backside which is really just scrumptious. It measures 24 " x 19" in size and has a hidden zipper for easy insert of a pillow form, which is not included. if you would like one, please contact me.
