Butterflies in Flight on RED Art Deco Miami Beach Mid Century Barkcloth Vintage PILLOW

Florida Bungalow was one of the first innovators to create huge quality dramatic and flamboyant pillows for 30 something years. I am known for the antique shows and textile shows throughout the country and especially Miami Beach. I have a unusual creative eye that conjures up unique and precious pieces of vintage art by todays standards. So let us transport you back to a time and place far from today in a world of everlasting nostalgia and whimsy.

This offering is for ONE very fabulous pillow cover made by Florida Bungalow and in one of my most treasured designs. Butterflies in Flight was one the most collectible of the designs of barkcloth coming out of South Beach in the Art Deco era. Right up there with the Panther & Palm pattern in the same colorway made by Spectrum Fabrics in the 1930's. In fact, they were made as coordinates and I saw that firsthand in the 80's as I was crawling through abandoned South Beach hotels. A sensational glammy red...pink...chartreuse and lemon yellows...minty green and dark lime...shades of creamy grays...with black and white accents. paired with a lime and white modern print that adds a elevated level of sophistication. Measures 22" wide x 20" long and has a hidden zipper for easy insert of a pillow form insert. The pillow form insert is not included as it adds too much to ship, but I will tell you where to get one for about $20. These timeless rare patterns have the ability to transform a space with chair or sofa art...can you imagine what this beauty can do!
