A super deluxe example of mid century modernism and the designers rising to the expectations of those waiting with bated breath for some of the design crazy that was exuding from the hearts and minds of mid century artists...designers and visionaries who's mark was made showcasing the inner workings of their minds...perspectives...their vision of the world through art...freedom and democracy to create without barriers...and I think this one of the most interesting hand print that is signed and everything...that I have come across...signed "Circle Fantasy Sara Kaiserman Hand Print". And while the designer has her own name for it...I think it embodies "Amoeba SPLATT"...a combination of circles and SPLATTER...the chartreuse demonstrates the splatt part...as if something chartreuse just fell from the sky on this pure black ground. It is sensational.
This offering is for ONE unused unwashed remnant that would be perfect for framing...it has been preserved perfectly...the owner for some reason has hems on the bottom and top...but not the selvedge...for the life of me I never understood collectors who hemmed their collection to keep it from fraying...but some did and this was one of them...it is obviously unused brand new old stock. A pure deep dark black ground...candied red and chartreuse take center stage in a very simple yet impactful colorway with creamy dove gray and this gorgeous unexpected dark teal green with white accents. Signed brilliantly as shown in photos and measures 50 inches wide x 43 inches long...a slubbed cotton more commercial industrial textile. if it were me...and maybe it will be...I'd create some fanciful fabulous dramatic...flamboyant...crazy assed art work from it :) Expect flawless.
