The most sweetest bluest days...are the ones when the sun is shining in such a way it transports me back 43 years ago...where that same ever glowing sun watched over our lives...unchanged...sifting sunlight through the plantation shutters and rusty pink iron chair...streaming through the cut outs of that old iron chair...as if cookie cutters...when I sit here and zoom in that camera...my nana and sweet mama are within that view...the two women who inspired my old soul-dom...I imagine them bent over adjusting my fabrics for the perfect view...how is this my cutie patootie?...is this ok my sweet chickadee? Nostalgia and memories...it's like I am home...like real home in those moments...seldom a town or state...or country...but rather a feeling...a place I go in my mind to escape...a survival mechanism I suppose in escaping a cruel world...a world of whimsy and fantasy fueled by memory...if only in that moment...
This offering is for ONE YARD x 36 wide of original unused old stock still on the original bolt...I have 4YDS available sold by the yard. Some of the sweetest and most prestigious of earthly offerings...I can attest that this is one of the sweetest and most romantic of blue florals I've come across in a long time...certainly life changing...yes LIFE CHANGING...people say to me all the time that you can't expect a vintage fabric to be life changing...and my response is always...well you have never met the right kind of vintage fabric then! Because of those of us who recognize the need for softness and subtle glitter in our lives...who's hearts are so touched when we stagger in the door each night...or open our sleepy eyes in the morning...each and every time our first look is refreshing...heart warming...I equate it with being born...the very first thing we feel as we exit the womb of our mothers...is the softness...beauty and comfort of cotton...often chenilles when we were born...it is something humans carry as a need in our evolutionary process...something we greatly take for granted...and something some of us recognize as a need to kinda get by in life...surrounded by the softness and tactility of cottons...so life changing? ABSOLUTELY! :)
