Ya know I know I am a snob...it is my lot in life :)...my design skills are mad...my eye so detail oriented it can be a blessing and a curse...so I watch all these design shows and wonder why they use some of the worst fabrics...they fall for the cliche that fabrics and draperies are often the last choice...when in reality they should be the the first in the design plan. The new HGTV Design Home 2023 in Colorado...this fabulous house with tons of natural bright light...open floor plan...triangle mod two story windows in the living room with...get this...black and white tiny printed gingham plaid draperies that are not only awful for that design plan...but dwarfed the room with how they hung them...there shouldn't have been any draperies on those windows...and instead iconic vintage fabrics framed as you'd see on my Florida Bungalow Fabrics Instagram page...I would have used THIS FABRIC...framed in a clunky mod white acrylic frame in all its grand scale size to take up likely a full wall of space. Framing fabrics is one of the most fun...unique...inexpensive of ways of creating art.
This offering is for ONE extraordinary beauty...of course that patriotic nod in that it is red...white and blue...but that flavor is not my aesthetic as much as I just love red white and blue together in a mod abstract vibe...and this one takes the cake...it is heavy...upholstery grade...ribbed cotton...it is signed "Kanley Exclusive Screen Print Norfix Stain Repellent Finish TURIN"...well Turin is a town in Italy...so whoever created this fabric was inspired by Italy in the late 60's and early 70's...for at that time there were some pretty fabulous Italian prints coming out and inspiring a world of creative artists. It measures 50 inches wide x 54 inches long...unused unwashed yardage stored immaculately for the last 50 years. I have another exact one also available...think summer beach house...think how you can create a beach vibe...or perhaps a loft vibe...or some fab mansion in the Hamptons foe which to have cocktails beneath this summer. Flawless.
