"Maharam Fabrics was founded in 1902 by Louis Maharam, a Russian immigrant. Through the generations, Maharam evolved from a source of theatrical textiles for costume and set design in the 1940s to a pioneer of performance-driven textiles for commercial interiors in the '60s. Maharam is recognized for its rigorous and holistic commitment to design as a leading provider of textiles to architects and interior designers. Maharam embraces a range of disciplines, from product, graphic, and digital design to art and architecture. This offering is for ONE YARD x 49 inches long of unused unwashed sensational old stock yardage...I have 9YDS available sold by the yard...in a pattern like ladders of gem stones...but the story of this fabric is told not by writing on the selvedge...instead the original tag attached that says "Snyer Lounge Crystalite Massif Maharam". A heavy weight upholstery fabric...its quality evident from simply touching it...a commercial grade mix of cotton and some commercial addition...coated with a protective innovative sun and stain protector. A medley of lime green...orange red...or jockey red...with simple black lines in a mottled creamy ground...if you love a dreamy original textile for which to embellish and pay honor to your project...then have at it...it is important to honor iconicy with iconicy...and this one does just that.
