Boys Life Magazine was discovered in the early turn of the 19th century...became a dream of all boys cultured into the woods...hunting...fishing and camping...why lads would wait anxiously for their postman each month to deliver their shiny new version of "Boys Life"...complete with stories and pictorials in full color...along with a catalog of goods...sportsman knives...even tents and camping gear...these textiles of yesteryear tell that story of history in a colorful eye popping way that makes us feel we have been transported back to a boys life circa 1950. And today these boys are mostly FATHERS and GRANDFATHERS and even more beautiful if girls can do it too today without judgment! But back then I'd have called this Father's Day!
This auction is for ONE YARD x 48 inches wide of unused unwashed primo yardage...I have 10YDS available being sold by the yard...an extraordinary view of outdoors life from a 1950's perspective...it was a time where Americans evolved from victorian days to more recreational outdoors events...in the past work outs came from heavy hard work...buy the human experience changed by the 50's when the machine age made it possible to live more recreationally...and it was a time Americans were ripe for appreciating the outdoors...it was after all the 50's that introduced the aesthetic of decorating with scenic views of the outdoors. A creamy white ground with scenic views of a man in a canoe fishing in roaring rapids of a stream...with waterfalls...lush woods landscapes...quail and pheasants...cute deer and sweet elk. Signed "House N Home Fabrics Fabrics and Draperies Guaranteed to be Vat Prints".
