The textile gods were hard at work in the inception of the machine age...the age of production of goods in massive quantities...a period between 1880 and 1945...that helped fuel a population boom that was fed by the machine age...factory work...neighborhoods being built beside factories with schools...post offices...stores and everything a young family would need to be a part of the growing middle class of America. Tt was the roaring 20's...a fantastical time in history...it was early in the production of fabrics by machine...by the 30's America would be in full swing in production of goods. Today it is nearly impossible to find actual yardage from the 20's...let alone a large quantity such as this. if you love this stuff...you can't help but be smitten by the colors...the tropical essence and the lightweight capabilities embodied in this sensational cotton.
This offering is for ONE HALF YARD x 32 inches wide of unused unwashed exquisite yardage...I have 8YDS available sold by the yard...signed "Selected Vats"...it is a versa tile weight for home decor and garments really...although made for home decor...a lighter to medium weight...with a patternry you'd see in the coming decades in form of barkcloth textures. I love the light pinks...the smaller graphic prints of tropical flora...anthurium with multi colored palm fronds...an array of colors so perfectly suited for this pattern...cobalt blue...sky blue...asparagus lime...chartreuse yellow...bubble gum pink...electric lime with white accents. This beautiful stuff has been stored for 100 years in immaculate condition either by the good hands of textile lovers or pure chance...whatever it is...I am grateful. Expect immaculate.
