So special is all I can say...originally draperies that have been deconstructed to yardage...if you see a gray ground...it is close...but truly pic #2 is the best representation of color...a palest gray blue...but definitely not as gray as the photos show...sometimes these neutrals are hard to capture the perfect essence...but I think the fact that they are really a very light blue is a better bonus than only gray. The scenes are simply breathtaking...taking you back to Ancient Greek and their iconic Goddess'. While there is definite imperfections in that they have some fading from when they were drapes...in my humble opinion is the best testament to neoclassical shabby chic.
This offering is for 3YDS x 47 inches wide of a unglazed cotton...I have another 3YD piece as well sold individually. A powdery gray blue ground with scenes in a creamy basil green...cocoa...latte...a cocoa that is taking on a lavender hue...robins egg blue with white accents. You'll notice some slight fading streaks...listen they ain't perfect...but they have been washed...dried and ironed and they have an essence of beauty unparalleled by anything else I've seen. I'd line them in a white black out lining and you won't notice the fading streaks as much since then light won't penetrate and highlight it...or if you love that shabby chic look...hang them as they are...create the perfect romantic beach house for the summer in a flea market find fashion...maybe hung on a thick white wooden rod with ornate finials...puddled to the floor...surely it will be a puddle welcomed! Definite statement material here. They are strong...no holes...rips...or wear other than fading...the edge is signed "Original Handprinted by Thorp". Pretty darn clean...and special...so don't pass them up as it may never come around again.
