The family of yellows in the mid century genre of barkcloth...has always been something very special in the barkcloth collecting world...yellows are tough to come by...and especially one with the embodiment of such Art Deco genealogy rooted so deeply in the Art Deco Movement in Miami Beach that swept the world. Imagine solid fancy mohair...luxe velvets...barkcloth...trimmed embellishments like fabulous brush fringes on pillows and club chairs bedecked with trims that just added a level of beauty...like lashes to a drag queen...trims are the deciding factor on just how fabulous yer gonna go when it comes to authenticity of the period...with this divine treasure I'd have to create a pillow using some of this fantastic chartreuse or chocolate in a velvet with a deep bold red brush fringe to really pull out that fantastic red...the result would be the level of SWANK that you'll have to check yer pannies. :)
This offering is for ONE unused unwashed large piece of yardage in a yellow to die for...a heavy textured nubby barkcloth...a colorway so Miami Beach Art Deco it'll make yer head spin...deep dark and milky chocolates...asparagus chartreuse green...red...emerald teal...minty lime...dove gray with black and white accents on the most beautiful old fashioned yellow. Signed "Best Obtainable Vat Dyes". There is one repeat on the bottom corner that has some smudges from storage...I know it'll wash out as it mostly wipes off...but I won't wash it as the newness is more important...a great one for pillows...smaller upholstery projects...lampshades or of course FRAMED as deco art. Other than the smudge...this is brand perfect old stock that is flawless...designer worthy and iconic in its own rite. Measures 49 inches wide x 70 inches long.
