Lots of fun to photograph this delightful return to my past...it is as if I returned. to 204 Valley Rd circa 1970's when I was just a busy beaver little boy who decorated his own bedroom...ummm...weekly...yes weekly...much to my parents discontent...well more Jim than Nance...and in keeping with the era I was all about browns with bold primary colors...oooohhh and oranges...this fabric would have made some fab pillows to match my 4'x6' latch hook rug I made in similar rusty tones of oranges and chocolates...I used masking tape to stencil huge mod clock arms on one whole wall one night when my parents were at Bible study...just before they left they made me make another crossed fingers promise..."NO SURPRISES BRIAN" the last words uttered from their mouths on the way out of the bi level and into the Pontiac Catalina. I was brave...well determined...to let my creativity shine...it was survival in a brutal bullied world...it was create or bust...and I know Jim and Nance did not want me to bust :)!!!
This offering is for 2.7YDS x 45 inches of a true vintage late 60's early 70's heavy cotton canvas made by and signed "Concord Textile Co Inc." it is unused and unwashed...therefore stiff and certainly ready to be something fabulous to another little creative survivalist like the young Brian Walsh...perhaps a groovy "he...she or they" who needs the patternry and color like I did...who maybe is hiding behind their creativity for their own survival...I can say this...I am here to write about it...I survived...however I had to do it...I knew young it was my own diligence that would save me. So if you love turquoise...red and tangerine like I do...then I hope this turns in to a incredible late night wall mural while your parents are at bible study :) Expect pretty perfect...A slight fold where it was folded for like...ever....presents clean and unused brand new old stock. Have at it.
