40's Hollywood Glam Floral Vintage Fabric HUGE Salesman Sample Orig Old Stock Yardage

Mural fabrics began making its debut around the mid 40's post Art Deco. These textiles were mostly commercial for hotels and business space. The 40's was prime for mural fabrics talking the concept into the 50's...60's and 70's...a style that seemed to never go out of fashion. Today designers around the world relish in these delights by framing them behind glass in full panels on a wall as art. I have a designer friends in France who are using these textiles as murals with wood decorative trim moulding surrounding it regally. Just great ways to create sophisticated art.

This offering is for ONE very large salesman sample...serged on ends and with two smaller sample pieces on the reverse side that shows what other colors this came in...it measures 51 inches wide x 102 inches long. It is unused and unwashed and showcases what the upper crust decorated with...the Hollywood elites bedecking their Bel Air mansions with such visions of grandeur...the glam florals were named after the starlets that put them to great use. A creamy off white rayon cotton commercial mix of fabrics...gorgeous aqua greens and purple orchid pinks will take your breath away...purples...turquoise sky...lime...cocoa...chartreuse limes...I particularly am smitten with the abundance of deep dark bottle...almost black green that swaths the bottom of the panel...just so fantastic. Signed "MM Vat Colored Hingham Panel". Hingham is a city in Massachusetts ...New England was where most of these prints were created...and naming fabrics after towns was quite a thing. Expect brand new 40's...perfect.
