Circa 1972 in chapter one of my life...the St John's had this remarkable bold beauty as curtains in their mid century den...I never did forget them as during Cub Scout meetings I'd be focused on how they'd look on my bedroom windows...oyyy...I was never into learning how to navigate life by a manual that tells boys how to hone their skills...I was there more for crafts...like making wreaths out of clear plastic baggies tied to a wire hanger with pretty little miniature Christmas balls...I lived for those wreaths for a good couple years :) But it was this fabric that stuck...so much I own it 50 years later and covet it in my collection.
This offering is for ONE YARD x 52 inches wide of outrageous poppies in all the colors of IRELAND :)...I have 6YDS available sold bye the yard...this innovative fabric was created using Zepel by Dupont...it was but another experimental way to add protective coatings to fabric to preserve them...giving it a similar affect to oil cloth...chintz...some may even think it resembles vinyl...it is a cotton fabric with the Zepel coating glazed over the finish of the fabric. A pattern certainly inspired directly or indirectly by Vera Neumann... poppies in kelly greens...citron lime...teal...caramel...black and white with a fabulous orange pop. Expect brand new!
