My nana had a old white tin cabinet in her hallway outside her old bathroom with clawfoot tub...she kept her home made lavender soaps and freshly ironed sheets in that cabinet...you could smell it from downstairs as you made your way up the rickety old stairs...a tradition pop pop continued after she passed...and a tradition passed down from my mom to me...the forever wandering hearts looking for excellent and fabulous soaps with old soul scents of days passed...always looking to fill the crannies of our minds and stroking those memory banks provoked by scents and fragrances that are familiar and a gift to the psyche...the drapery and fabric appreciation comes from the same nurturing place first planted into our souls by those that loved us...who role modeled for us...and who had a imprint on our hearts and lives...for me replicating the very things Olive Lyon...aka Nana...had in her bungalow...pieces of memories...fragments of heart...physical things that become attachments to her soul...the soul she left for me here on earth...planted deep inside me from traditions and ideologies and care passed on from generations before me...that special gift I carry with me that is in everything I touch and everything I seek to recreate and indulge in my own life...to recreate memories...that safe cottage feeling of chenille and vintage textiles...draperies flanking windows so elegantly and in such a way they have the perfect spying view for which to watch the goings on of generations of earthlings before us...oh the stories those draperies could tell...from celebrations to sadness and every milestone in between...simply these are not just draperies...these are testaments of time...markers of lives well lived...documents of time...relics of the ages...and still gracefully willing and able to bring new life and old life to your abode...here at Florida Bungalow...we don't just make memories...we live them.

This great floral is everything post Victoriana 1930's early 40's when the country was reproducing 1800's Victorian prints in big splashy depictions like never before...as if picked right from the garden...ensconced in scrolls of Neoclassical embellishments...gorgeous red...varied pinks...I LOVE LOVE LOVE when pinks are butt up against reds...sweet periwinkle blue...creamy antique yellows...cocoas...lavender...sage and basil greens on a creamy antique white.
