When I was doing the NYC Markets in the 90's I'd meet the best most informative people...the collectors...the old fashioned...the designers...and all of them were looking for various textures of barkcloth...very fastidious...they didn't settle for less than what they craved...most craved CUDDLECLOTH...it was the perfect mix in with vintage chenilles and wonderful for DIY projects...pillows...bags...quilting projects...it was super popular to make coverlets with cuddlecloth as the premier front fabric and a tufted vintage chenille deconstructed bedspread added to the backside...tied together with a sweet piping. Whatever your desire...seek to CUDDLE! :)
This offering is for ONE YARD x 48 inches wide of unused original old stock barkcloth...I have 4YDS available being sold by the yard...clean and immaculate...stored perfectly for all these years...it hails from the 1930's where it made a big ole COTTON SPLASH! A spotless RARE black ground...glorious purple pinks...jadeite and minty lime greens...deep dark merlot burgundy...periwinkle blue...chartreuse yellow...chocolate...with white accents. if you are looking for something only the wealthy aristocrats owned back in the 30's...then you have come to the right place...Victoriana Cottage...Magazine Editorial...Hollywood Glam...expect immaculate...never washed so it retains it's stiffness.
