It was as if there was something in the water in the late 40's and 50's that was affecting the abstractness of how designers/artists were relaying their perceptions of rural landscapes...landscapes that by the way were uber popular in the Eames...mid century mod era...the idea of bringing the outside in...and in a way that brings a POP of colors AND a slight abstractness that quite possibly only those of us with a trained eye for that...might only be privy to...and if you are so blessed with that eye...that eye that is a blessing a curse...then you will be smitten by this major player on the scene circa 1954...quite possibly mixed with other similar colorways in atomic prints...city landscape prints...as well many a bold printed bougainvillea mural drapery...uber popular at the time...covering just about any type of landscape from Americana country...to European styled prints...securing its place in textile history...
This offering is for ONE YARD x 49 inches wide of a unused unwashed yardage...I have 6YDS available being sold by the yard. Could you imagine pillows made of this spectacular never used...iconic...fabric...a pillow plopped on a Nelson or Frankyl chair...creating chair art...off the original bolt authentic barkcloth...if you love bold colors then this one is sure to tug on some vintage heart strings...rich deep brick burgundy red...coral pink...chartreuse...varied creamy limes...dark limes...soft grays...and black used in the most terrific modern way for shading and abstractness...on a clean crisp white ground...this one is impressive...those with the eye will see that...those that don't will say what the heck is he talking about :...and that is OK :) xo
