The constant outpouring of abstract ideas in design that poured out of the 1950's was reflective of changing times...it was the easing of many societal brainwashed ideologies that came from the Victorian era...many a rebel spirit emerged in the 1950's...whether it was an activist voice or the voice of a designer making statements through design and pattern...these iconic abstract Trojans...depictions of horses in various scenes with chariots...shields...abstract designs that showcase what may look like sleek pottery bottles that when turned upside down are really abstract horses...horses in abstract form conveys a taste of modernism that maybe artists prior to the mid century were not quite ready to embrace...through the use of a simple pattern with a utilitarian type design...and employing the use of the very hot 50's trends of basic colors like use of grays and black with one pop of pink color. It is quite a statement!
This offering is for ONE YARD x 49 inches wide of unused unwashed yardage...I have 6YDS available sold by the yard. A rayon/cotton mix of thick textured upholstery weight barkcloth. The perfect piece for which to transform your life and space...the perfect fit for any mod chair as pure unadulterated art..."Trojan" is what she is named...signed on the selvedge brilliantly and transcends that quite well when you study the pattern...its funny.
