My nana Olive Mae kept a house...she was everything you want to recapture when you think back to the days of the 1930's when things seemed sweeter...neighborly...where a neighbor could knock on a door with ease for a cup and sugar...Olive Mae's bungalow was a nest...she was a nester...she built comfort...sentimentality...she had scents everywhere...her lavender soaps in the bathroom tin cabinet created an aroma throughout the whole upstairs...it is where she scrubbed my mommy Nancy Lee with a scrub brush and her own blend of lavender soap...my mother would say it was rigorous scrubbing as she cringed...my nana was a clean freak...and when she passed it my pop pop lost...he never did change the house in all the years after she left...it was a museum testament the kind of home Olive Mae created...protected until he took his last breath...
This offering is for ONE deconstructed and washed thick and nubby fabric! It looks to have had little to no use...the colors robust without fading...huge magnolia blossoms sporting a larger than life colorful floral array that screams MRS DOROTHY DRAPER! A clean crisp white ground...true red...burgundy...chartreuse...cocoa...chocolate...asparagus lime...dark teal green...yellow...with black accents. There is a pleater tape header that I left attached to the top...one side is original selvedge..another has a tiny hem and the bottom is raw selvedge. Perfect and strong for pillows and upcycling projects. Washed...ironed and looks new. measures 47 inches wide x 66 inches long.
